Director – Carbondale City Library
The Carbondale City Library, located in Osage County, Kansas and 12 miles south of Topeka, the State Capital, is looking for a new Director. The Library is an accredited member of the Northeast Kansas Library System and serves thousands of people throughout northern Osage County.
The library Director is responsible for the overall operations and administration of the library. The Director must establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Trustees, public officials, community organizations and groups, and the general public. The Director keeps the Board apprised of current and future trends in library services, and recommends appropriate library policies for Board adoption. We seek someone who is organized, enthusiastic, good with people of all ages, and can manage a budget responsibly. The Library will soon be moving into a new building and the Board seeks the right person to help lead us into the future.

This is a full-time (currently 32 hours/week) position. Weekend and evening hours may be required as needed to fulfill the duties of the position.
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous professional library experience preferred.
Wages and Benefits:
Hourly wage is negotiable and commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, and nine paid holidays.
